Dr Ankur Talwar is an MD in Dermatology and an expert in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and Dermatosurgery.
Dr Ankur completed his MBBS from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi in 2002.
Thereafter he followed his interests in the field of dermatology and completed his postgraduate MD degree in the field of dermatology from the esteemed KIMS Hospital and Medical College in Bangalore, RGUHS university.
Dr Ankur Talwar was awarded the prestigious gold medal for securing top position in the MD degree exam in Dermatology in the entire Karnataka State RGUHS University.
After completing his post graduation Dr Ankur Talwar took specialised training in the field of lasers and aesthetics along with dermatosurgery.
He joined Talwar Skin Centre Lucknow in the year 2011 as a consultant dermatologist.
To pursue his interests in the field of Academics, Dr Ankur Talwar also joined the department of Dermatology, Hind Institute of Medical Sciences Lucknow in the year 2014. He was elevated to the post of Assistant Professor in 2017 and promoted to Associate Professor in 2019.
Dr Ankur Talwar was promoted to the post of Professor in Dermatology in the year 2022. He currently heads the Department of Dermatology at Hind Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Safedabad. Dr Ankur is also a post graduate teacher and guides 2 postgraduate students every year at the Department of Dermatology, HIMS.
Besides his clinical skills Dr Ankur Talwar is also a wonderful orator and has more than 50 invited lectures to his credit at the state, national and international level.
Dr Ankur Talwar has also authored more than 12 Publications in National and international journals. He has authored chapters in 10 books including the prestigious IADVL Textbook of Dermatology.
Dr Ankur Talwar also served as the Vice President of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venerologists and Leprologists (IADVL) , Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand state in the year 2019. He is currently the President elect for IADVL, UP and UK state branch.
Dr Ankur specialises in general Dermatology with keen interest in Psoriasis and Vitiligo skin disorders. He has more than 500 Vitiligo surgeries to his credit. Dr Ankur Talwar is a pioneer in the field of Vitiligo surgery and was one of the first dermatologists to start the novel MELANOCYTE KERATINOCYTE TRANSPLANT technique for Vitiligo in UP.
